The Mysteries Of Time And Space

If there ever was an existence,
Be it man or god or substance,
Then that itself would be a travesty.
For two questions should be asked,
And the querent need not a scholar be;
What was there before this existence?
And what lies beyond its bounds?
Two simple questions surely,
Yet minds greater than our own have pondered their depths.
No solution has been found,
Nor is one likely to be shown to mortal men.
It is written that in death shall come enlightenment,
And this may be,
But one thing troubles the seeker still;
Should promises be broken,
And the prophesies of the Lords of Life be based on lies,
Then I would die in darkness,
The mysteries of time and space would remain,
And I would be disappointed.
